What To Expect

A Stacy Smith Studios Boudoir Session is a transformational experience that will change the way you see yourself. Our signature shoot experiences are designed for women with great taste who are on a self-love journey. We’ll work together to plan a shoot that suits YOU, whether that means sky high heels and giant lashes, or no makeup and jean cutoffs.

As a guide, most SSS shoots include the following:

•    CONSULTATION & PLANNING. A pre-shoot consultation is as much for you as it is for me – I want you to feel confident that we are a good fit and vibe well together. Also, if you’re going to get half naked in front of someone, I think it’s a bit easier if that person doesn’t feel like a total stranger. We’ll talk about the look and feel of your session, and discuss a bunch of other things – why you’re doing this shoot, outfit ideas, hair/makeup plans, your questions and concerns, etc.

•    STYLING ADVICE. Lingerie shopping can be overwhelming, so I’ll send you a detailed styling guide with suggestions on what to wear for your shoot. If there are particular things you struggle with (larger cup sizes, very petite frames, etc.) I’ll be able to make some suggestions during your pre-shoot consultation.

•    PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP & HAIR STYLING. One of my highly skilled makeup artists will be available to create the perfect camera-ready look for you. Dry hair styling is also included. Have your own HMU Artist in mind? Feel free to schedule with them first and show up ready to shoot!

** Our salon room provides a professional, comfortable space for you to relax, sip some wine and get dolled up. This soon also allows for complete privacy for wardrobe changes during your session

•    THE BEST BOUDOIR STUDIO AROUND. This space is my baby. I built it specifically for boudoir…..specifically for a woman like YOU. Since 2016 the studio has been growing and evolving. My goal is to have as many options as possible so that we can create a variety of images for you to walk away with. The studio is filled with luxurious & unique velvet furniture, offering over 10 different sets with beautiful textured wallpapers, a baby grand piano, lush green plants, floor to ceiling windows and more!

•    PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY & POSING DIRECTION. I want this to be the best photographic experience you’ve ever had. I’m really good at making women feel comfortable in front of my camera so there’s no need to worry. I’ll show exactly what to do. I’ll walk you through every pose, and often do the poses with you. I’ll distract you with random stories, and I’ll be your cheerleader every step of the way. No experience necessary, first-timers are especially welcome.

•    MAGAZINE QUALITY RETOUCHING. Professional, magazine-quality retouching on all your best images is included. I don’t believe in drastically altering your appearance or body type, but I do support small alternations that result in a polished, professional-looking final image. I will correct any lumps and bumps that appear due to wardrobe or posing and cleaning up things that are temporary or annoying such as bruises, acne, flyaway hairs, etc. Your skin will be smoothed, your eyes will be sharpened and brightened and your images will be color corrected and cropped. If there’s something that drives you crazy (cellulite? forehead wrinkles? scars? stretch marks?) just let me know and I can tone it down or make it disappear. Alternatively, if you would prefer I do nothing at all just say so. I’m happy if you’re happy.

•    GALLERY DELIVERY & PRODUCTS. About two weeks after your session I will cull through your images, narrow them down to the best ones, edit a few samples from each of your “looks” and send you an email with a link and password to your online gallery. This gallery is completely private and can only be accessed with that link & password. Almost without fail, my clients are genuinely surprised by how amazing they look! I’ll often receive messages saying, “I can’t believe that is ME!” BELIEVE IT, GIRLFRIEND. Now let that confidence start to grow a little more than it was before! You slayed this shoot, just like I told you you would! Once you accept that and get over the initial shock, you will go through the process of choosing your favorite images for me to retouch. The retouching process usually takes another 7-10 days (unless we have worked out an alternative deadline.) Once your images are finished you can make selections for products and packages. I offer a range of beautiful photographic albums, archival wall art, high resolution digital images, and more. I also have great gift options for you to choose from.

•    A FEMALE PHOTOGRAPHER WHO GETS YOU. Time and again, I’ve been told there’s something different about working with me. Whether you’re half naked doing a boudoir shoot at my studio or we are out having a drink, you are going to get the same Stacy. I pride myself on being down to earth, funny and easy to get a long with. I become friends with many of the women I photograph for this reason. I am your #1 hype girl and cheerleader! It there is a (lucky) man in your life who will get to see these images, that’s fantastic…..but I don’t shoot in order to please men. I just want my clients to feel absolutely incredible and be over the moon about the way they look and feel in front of my lens.

•    WORKING WITH A PASSIONATE ARTIST & THE CHANCE TO GAIN CONFIDENCE & GET YOUR GROOVE BACK. This opportunity is open to you no matter how you currently feel about yourself, and it is available to you regardless of age, body shape, fat percentage, or how much you feel like you’ve lost touch with the person you used to be. You do not need to feel more confident before you come see me. You come to me to get that confidence. It doesn’t matter if you’re terrified and shaking and sweating the entire time – you wouldn’t be the first and you won’t be the last, so please come just as you are and we’ll take extra special care of you. If you’re struggling to justify spending the time and money on yourself, please know that you’re not being frivolous. This is an investment in your future self, because a woman who loves and accepts herself is unstoppable. She radiates an energy that draws others in. She laughs louder, smiles easier, walks taller.
